Brazilian Jiu- Jitsu
It is a grappling-based Jiu-Jitsu art that focuses on ground fighting. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is an art that uses joint locks, chokes, sweeps, takedowns, and positions to dominate your opponent through technique on the ground. Our Affiliation is with Team Rhino who is Affiliated with Pedro Sauer a direct line from Helio Gracie and Rickson Gracie.

Kodenkan Danzan Ryu Jujitsu
Kodenkan Danzan Ryu Jujitsu is a Traditional MMA Judo & Jujitsu art that focuses on all aspects of Jujitsu, striking, throws, takedowns, grappling, joint locks, and chokes. Danzan Ryu Jujitsu was founded by Professor Seishiro Okazaki in 1929 in Hawaii. Danzan Ryu Jujitsu is very similar to Kodokan Judo but also incorporates martial arts like Philippine Knife techniques, Dirk throwing, and Western boxing. Find out more about Kodenkan Danzan Ryu Jujitsu by reading our history lesson on it. We are also an affiliated school of Kodankan Danzan Ryu Jujitsu through Jujitsu America. Backyard Jujitsu is also one of the few schools remaining in Oregon to teach Danzan Ryu Jujitsu in the PNW.
TEAM USA
Backyard Jujitsu is the headquarters for Sports Jujitsu in the PNW for Team USA in Sports Jujitsu. Coach Weston Simonis is developing a regional team for Sports Jujitsu with the USCJO and is recognized with the USJJF.
Sports Jujitsu
Sports Jujitsu is a Traditional MMA Sport fighting art. Our school represents Team USA in multiple Sports Jujitsu and Gi grappling tournaments from around the world.
Kajukenbo
Ka Ju Ken Bo is a mixed martial art standing for Karate, Judo/Jujitsu, Kenpo and Boxing. It’s a self-defense art developed in Honolulu Hawaii from 1947-1949.
